Civic Outdoor Track reopens – upgrades complete

The City of Oshawa is pleased to share that renovations to the outdoor track at the Civic Recreation Complex are now complete.

The project involved replacement of the existing track with a new rubberized surface designed to enhance performance, durability, and safety, while meeting current World Athletics track standards. Upgrades were also completed on the javelin and pole vault runways, the high jump area, and the long jump pits.

As one of the only facilities of its kind in Durham Region, the Civic Stadium has served as the primary venue for regional track and field competitions for generations of student athletes.

The Civic Stadium features a 400metre, eightlane track, jumping runways, a turf multisport field and seating for up to 2,000 spectators. With a press box, scoreboard, change rooms and concession services, it is wellsuited for regional and provincial track and field events, as well as football, lacrosse and soccer.
