Holiday hours for Recreation, Waste and Service Oshawa

Learn how City closures and service changes may affect you this holiday season.

Service Oshawa Holiday Hours

Service Oshawa will be open with regular hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday until Friday and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The office will be closed on the following dates:

• Wednesday, December 24
• Thursday, December 25
• Friday, December 26
• Wednesday, December 31
• Thursday, January 1

Waste Services

There will be no waste collection on December 25 and January 1. Collection will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week. Please have waste at the curb by 7 a.m. to avoid being missed.

A four-bag limit applies. Additional bags require $2.50 tags, available in sheets of five. For more details, visit oshawa.ca/Garbage.

Christmas Tree Collection: Put your tree at the curb by 7 a.m. on Monday, January 12 for pickup. Trees are collected from January 12 to 16 and may not coincide with your regular waste collection day. For details, visit oshawa.ca/TreeCollection.

Recreation Facilities

Recreation facilities will have modified hours from December 24, 2025, to January 1, 2026. During this time, a Winter Break Activity Schedule will be in effect for leisure skating, swimming, and drop-in sports from December 20, 2025, to January 4, 2026. View the holiday hours for each facility.
