Lakeview Park pathway replacement now underway

Progress update (July 8)

Phase 2 of construction is now underway and will include the removal and replacement of pathways along the lakefront and around the gazebo and picnic pavilion.

Cyclists and pedestrians can expect disruptions to paved surfaces in areas west of the playground and Jubilee Pavilion and are encouraged to plan accordingly.

Phase 2 is expected to continue into late August.

What: Replacement of existing pathway surfaces as well as completing minor repairs and improvements throughout Lakeview Park. This project is anticipated to be completed this fall. The work will be done in a phased approach to limit user impact.

The upgraded paths will improve trail connectivity, safety and access to Oshawa’s waterfront, enhancing the experience for residents and visitors.

Details:

  • removal of existing interlock pathways
  • widening of pathways and paving with asphalt
  • accessibility improvements at the Jubilee Pavillion
  • minor repairs and updates throughout the park

When: April through October 2026

Unfavourable weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances may impact the work schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
