Lest we forget: Oshawa recognizes Remembrance Day with annual parade and ceremony

The City of Oshawa invites you to join the Royal Canadian Legion Branches 43 and 637 for their annual Remembrance Day Parade and Ceremony on Wednesday, November 11. The parade begins at 10:25 a.m. at the R.S. McLaughlin Armoury and will travel to the Memorial Park cenotaph. The ceremony will begin at 10:45 a.m. at the cenotaph.

Those unable to attend are encouraged to watch the ceremony on November 11, courtesy of Rogers TV Durham. Residents can view the live broadcast via Rogers TV online at rogerstv.com/OshawaRemembers2026 on November 11.

The ceremony will include the parade, laying of the wreaths, remembrance service and closing remarks. At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, two minutes of silence will be observed to honour all who have fallen and acknowledge those who have served for our freedom.

The local Legion branches request that the airspace over Memorial Park be respected as a no-drone zone during the ceremony.

This year marks an important milestone, as the Royal Canadian Legion celebrates its 100th anniversary throughout Canada, and Branch 43 in Oshawa observes 100 years of service to our Veterans and our community.

To further honour those who have served, the City invites you to observe Indigenous Veterans Day on Sunday, November 8, recognizing the contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis veterans who served and sacrificed.
