Mayor Dan Carter statement on shooting incident in Oshawa involving a DRPS officer

Mayor Dan Carter has issued the following statement in response to an armed person call and the subsequent shooting of a Durham Regional Police Officer and a suspect on Sunday, January 18:

“This is an extremely tragic event. On behalf of the City of Oshawa, we extend our heartfelt concerns to the police officer and their loved ones. We are keeping the officer in our thoughts and prayers for a full and speedy recovery.”
