Paid parking coming to Oshawa’s waterfront May 15
The City of Oshawa is introducing paid parking at Lakeview Park and Ed Broadbent Waterfront Park to help manage growing demand during peak periods.
Paid parking will be in effect annually from May 15 to October 15 on weekends, public holidays (Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day and Thanksgiving Day) and during City led events. The program is intended to improve parking availability during busy periods, reduce congestion and support ongoing maintenance and enhancements to the waterfront.
Free parking for Oshawa residents
Oshawa residents can park for free by registering their vehicle(s) for a Waterfront Parking Permit. Vehicles must be registered to an Oshawa address.
Permits are valid from May 15 to October 15 and must be renewed each year.
To register, residents must provide the following documents:
- Vehicle permit (green vehicle ownership document)
- Proof of residency showing the vehicle owner’s name and a City of Oshawa address (i.e. driver’s licence, latest utility bill or current property tax bill)
Complete your registration online at oshawa.ca/WaterfrontParking. Additionally, residents may register in-person at Service Oshawa during regular business hours.
Paid parking for non-residents and unregistered vehicles
Non-residents and vehicles without a Waterfront Parking Permit will pay a flat rate of $20 per day on weekends, public holidays and during City led events.
