Public Meeting - 200 Ritson Rd N - January 12, 2026
What:
A public meeting will be held regarding a proposal for a new Telecommunication Tower (File: SPA-2025-15) submitted by Shared Tower Inc. for lands at 200 Ritson Road North.
The Oshawa Economic and Development Services Committee will be considering the above referenced privately initiated proposal for the area shown as a black dot on the hatched lands on the map at the public meeting.
When: January 12, 2026 – 6:30 p.m.
Where:
This public meeting will take place in the Council Chamber, Oshawa City Hall, 50 Centre Street South.
Members of the public wishing to address the Committee through electronic means rather than appear in-person to make a delegation are required to submit their request to speak to this matter no later than 12 p.m. on January 9, 2026 by contacting Legislative Services in writing at clerks@oshawa.ca.
Members of the public are also invited to submit correspondence concerning this matter. Please address your comments to Legislative Services at clerks@oshawa.ca by 4:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026 in order for your correspondence to be provided on the Agenda. Comments received by Legislative Services after 4:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026 and up to January 9, 2026 at 4 p.m. will be provided to Committee members at the January 12, 2026 Public Meeting. Correspondence submitted after 4 p.m. on January 9, 2026 should be sent to the City Contact identified below.

Why:
Shared Tower Inc. proposes to construct a 15 metre (49.21 ft.) high telecommunication tower and associated equipment at 200 Ritson Road North, the location of which is depicted as a black dot on the hatched lands on the map shown.
Telecommunication towers are regulated by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada requires telecommunication operators to consult with the City on certain telecommunication tower proposals. Before the City provides any comments to Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, it is important to obtain public input. The purpose of the public meeting is to obtain public comments on this new telecommunication tower proposal.
