Swimming lesson registration opens September 29 at South Oshawa Pool

Following the successful reopening of the South Oshawa Community Centre (SOCC) Pool after an extensive reconstruction project, the City is reminding residents that registration for fall swimming lessons and aquatic programs at South Oshawa Pool opens at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29. Programs will begin the week of October 13.

Residents can register online through activeOshawa Online or in-person at the South Oshawa Community Centre, Civic Recreation Complex, Delpark Homes Centre and Donevan Recreation Complex.

Transferring to a South Oshawa aquatic program

Residents wishing to transfer swimming lessons or aquatic programs from another City pool location to South Oshawa Pool must complete their transfer request by Friday, October 9 to have transfer fees waived.

In-person transfer

• Visit a City of Oshawa recreation facility to complete your transfer request in-person. 

Online transfer

• Register for the South Oshawa aquatic program of your choice through activeOshawa Online. Then submit a Course Withdrawal and Refund Request Form for the program you are withdrawing from. 

Free leisure swimming for Oshawa residents

To thank residents and facility users for their patience during the pool closure and reconstruction project, City Council approved free leisure swimming for Oshawa residents at South Oshawa Pool for the remainder of 2026. Leisure swims are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability and facility capacity limits.

Residents wishing to participate in free leisure swimming must present government-issued identification showing proof of Oshawa residency.
