Community members can report injured wildlife to Service Oshawa or call 905-436-3311.

The following organizations may be able to assist with orphaned wildlife:

Rabies in wildlife

Cruelty to wildlife

Cruelty to wildlife is regulated under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, the Provincial Animal Welfare Services Act, and the Criminal Code. Report cruelty to wildlife to the Ontario Animal Protection Call Centre.

Killed or Injured Livestock

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) manages the Ontario Wildlife Damage Compensation Program (OWDCP) which provides compensation to eligible owners whose livestock or poultry have been injured or killed as a result of wildlife.

Livestock and poultry producers can make claims to their local municipality to try and recoup losses.

At the City of Oshawa, Legislative Services processes claims for killed or injured livestock caused by wildlife as outlined in the OWDCP Program. For more information contact, clerks@oshawa.ca or call 905-436-3311.
