Public safety and security are everyone's responsibility. If you see something that does not seem quite right, report it. We can make a safer community by reporting non-criminal and nuisance-related issues to Service Oshawa and criminal activity to Durham Regional Police Service.

Many non-emergency concerns such as soliciting, loitering, camping, garbage, graffiti, discarded needles can be reported to Service Oshawa. Additionally, the Durham Regional Police Service has a non-emergency number at 905-579-1520.
Always call 9-1-1 for emergencies and serious crimes in progress.

Report all criminal activity, including:

  • drug use and/or dealing
  • break and enter into facilities and vehicles
  • theft
  • graffiti, vandalism and/or damage to property
  • physical violence and assault
  • weapons

Report incidents that may not be criminal in nature but may include:

  • open alcohol consumption and/or drunk and disorderly
  • disruptive noise
  • suspicious or unwanted persons

Call 9-1-1 for emergencies and serious crimes in progress.

211 Community Services Provides callers in Toronto, Durham, Peel, and York Regions with information and referral services to community and social services 24/7: and to the rest of Ontario on weeknights and weekends.
311 Non-emergency municipal services  
411 Local directory assistance  
511 Weather and traveller information  Offers bilingual traveller information services and is provided by the Ministry of Transportation.
611 Telephone repair For local telephone company repair, and is used to report problems with telephone service or with a payphone.
711 Message relay Message relay service enables callers with speech or hearing disabilities to make and receive phone calls with the assistance of an operator. T.T.Y. relay service is available to all home phone subscribers in Canada.
811 Non-urgent health care telephone triage Health Connect Ontario allows callers to connect with a registered nurse 24/7 to find health care services, obtain health advice, get help in navigating health services, and get the information they need. Health Connect Ontario replaces the former Telehealth Ontario. It does not replace the caller's Health care Provider. For medical emergencies, continue to call 911.
