Call for volunteers: Oshawa’s Cultural Leadership Council and Public Art Task Force

The City of Oshawa is accepting applications for volunteer positions on the Cultural Leadership Council (C.L.C) and the Public Art Task Force (P.A.T.F.) until April 13.

Both committees support the steering and development of arts and culture initiatives across the city:

  • The C.L.C. helps to implement Culture Counts: Oshawa’s Arts, Culture and Heritage Plan by leading and collaborating on initiatives, strategies and action items.
  • The P.A.T.F. supports the Public Art Master Plan while advising on public art policies and priorities, reviewing public art donations and making recommendations on juried public art competitions.

The committees are looking for representatives from local cultural organizations and businesses, creative entrepreneurs, artists from all disciplines and community members.

Selected volunteers will serve as a resource to City staff, attend meetings, participate in local cultural events and initiatives, and share public feedback on cultural activities and outputs from the City. Meetings are generally held at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every other month during the two-year committee term.

  • The P.A.T.F. meets in January, March, May, July, September and November.
  • The C.L.C. meets in February, April, June, August, October and December.

Applications and terms of reference are available online at oshawa.ca/CultureCounts or by emailing culturecounts@oshawa.ca. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on April 13.
