Celebrate creativity with the City of Oshawa at Convergence Music & Art Festival

Downtown Oshawa will transform into a hub of music, art and creativity during Convergence Music & Art Festival on Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This free event, organized by Oshawa Tourism, features two nights of live music, immersive art installations, professional wrestling, vendor markets and much more!

The City of Oshawa is excited to deliver free family-friendly art activities as part of Convergence this year, on September 19 and 20 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Veterans Square (a.k.a. “Creativity Corner” during the festival).

Creativity Corner will offer interactive art activities as well as a temporary art exhibition featuring pieces by five local visual artists. Selected through a Call for Artists, each piece in the temporary exhibit brings a unique perspective and style, inspired by the theme, “We Gather, We Remember, We Belong”.

Enjoy interactive art activities including:

• Mini sculpture making with Nicholas Crombach (September 19) – Join artist, Nicholas Crombach, who will lead a mini sculpture-making activity inspired by Kaleidoscope, the sculptural butterfly arch, which is installed in Veterans Square.
• Suncatcher painting with Durham Master Gardeners (September 19) – Get your creativity flowing with suncatcher painting or grab a take-away activity sheet featuring mazes, pollinator puzzles and more!
• Drop-in DIYs (September 19 and 20) – Join City staff as they lead drop-in workshops including building your own toy kaleidoscopes and air-dry clay sculpture-making. 

These activities highlight the City’s commitment to the arts, culture and vibrancy of our downtown core. Come connect with local artists, take part in art activities and celebrate creativity at Convergence!
