City of Oshawa and Oshawa Community Credit Union announce new sponsorship agreements

The City of Oshawa is pleased to announce two new partnerships with Oshawa Community Credit Union (OCCU) that will support recreational programming for community members.

OCCU has signed a three-year agreement as Presenting Sponsor of the City’s Playground Program, valued at $45,000, as well as a five-year Naming Rights Sponsorship for the pool at Delpark Homes Centre, valued at $100,000.

As the Playground Program’s presenting sponsor, the partnership supports the free summer playground program, that brings camp activities to neighbourhood parks (16 locations in total over the summer). To learn more, visit oshawa.ca/playground.

As part of the naming rights partnership, the pool at Delpark Homes Centre is now officially named the “OCCU, Oshawa Community Credit Union Pool.” The new name was celebrated with a free community swim on Saturday, July 4, where members of Council and OCCU representatives joined community members to mark the occasion.

Through its naming rights sponsorship, OCCU has prominent on-site recognition, including decals throughout the pool area, rink board advertising across the arenas and additional signage across Delpark Homes Centre, along with hosting an annual free swim.

Delpark Homes Centre is a premier recreation and community facility, featuring a leisure pool, four NHL-sized ice pads, a gymnasium, aerobics studio, fitness centre and elevated indoor walking track. The facility is also home to an Oshawa Public Libraries branch and an Oshawa Senior Community Centres (OSCC55+) location, serving residents of all ages.

Oshawa Community Credit Union (OCCU) has served its members as a trusted financial partner for more than 80 years. OCCU offers a comprehensive range of products for both personal and business needs, including everyday banking accounts, registered and un-registered investments, loans, and mortgages. Operating on cooperative principles, every member of OCCU is also an owner. Profits are either directly reinvested in the credit union to enhance services, or returned to members via loan rebates, bonus interest, and dividends. Become a member to experience banking defined by outstanding service and a commitment to mutual success.
