Kars on King rolls into downtown Oshawa on August 21

Kars on King returns to downtown Oshawa on Friday, August 21, transforming King St. and the surrounding area into a vibrant showcase of automotive history and family-friendly entertainment.

Event Highlights

• Entertainment: Explore hundreds of classic vehicles for car enthusiasts, families and visitors to enjoy. Catch live entertainment on the Main Stage at the intersection of Bond St. and Simcoe St., with musical performances scheduled throughout the evening, as well as roaming entertainment and buskers across the downtown.  
• Family Activities: Take part in interactive and kid-friendly programming throughout the event footprint, presented by TD Bank. Enjoy art activities with LivingRoom Community Art Studio, inflatables, backyard games, facepainting and balloon twisting. Plus, take a ride down Simcoe St. on a giant zipline, presented by Tribute Communities.
• Food and Beverage: Treat your tastebuds to a wide variety of culinary options for purchase from local food trucks throughout the event, or grab a bite from one of the many restaurants and eateries in downtown Oshawa.  
• Merchandise: Discover a variety of vendors showcasing local artisans, makers, handcrafted products and unique creations, and take the opportunity to visit the downtown’s local shops and businesses. 
• Additional Attractions: The Touch a Truck experience, presented by Oshawa Power and hosted by Tribute Communities Centre (TCC) will return for its 12th year. Head over to the TCC between 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. to explore over 40 unique vehicles up close. Plus, visit the Canadian Automotive Museum and experience the world’s most significant collection of Canadian cars, including pop culture favourites like Lightning McQueen. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. by regular paid admission, with extended hours until 9 p.m. by donation. 

There will be a number of road closures for the event on Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22, including portions of King St. and Bond St. Increased traffic around the downtown core is anticipated. Please plan your travel accordingly and visit oshawa.ca/KarsOnKing for more information.
