New bike route lane installation
New bike route lanes will be installed on Mary St. N., Ormond Dr., and Glovers Rd. This work includes applying new 10 cm white edge line pavement markings on both sides of the streets.
The City’s Traffic team will install temporary oversize “No Parking” signs along these streets and portable message boards will also be in place.
Work is expected to begin on or around Tuesday, June 2 and will take a few days to complete. Please note that unfavourable weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances may affect the work schedule.
Parking
Community members are asked to refrain from parking vehicles on the affected streets during the following times:
- June 2 (night):
- Mary St. N.
- Parking on the Southbound roadside
- Work Zone: Northbound side
- Glovers Rd.
- Parking on the Eastbound roadside
- Work Zone: Westbound side
- Mary St. N.
- June 3 (night):
- Mary St. N.
- Parking on the Northbound roadside
- Work Zone: Southbound side
- Glovers Rd.
- Parking on the Westbound roadside
- Work Zone: Eastbound side
- Mary St. N.
- June 4 (night) and June 7 (nights):
- Ormond Dr.
- Parking on the Southbound roadside
- Work Zone: Northbound side
- Ormond Dr.
- June 8 (night) and June 9 (nights):
- Ormond Dr.
- Parking on the Northbound roadside
- Work Zone: Southbound side
- Ormond Dr.
How will this work affect you?
Minor disruptions to traffic flow are expected, however both traffic and pedestrian movement will be maintained at all times. Traffic control measures will be in place to facilitate the work and ensure safety. All necessary temporary conditions signage will be posted by the Contractor before the work begins.
We do not anticipate any disruptions to waste or mail delivery. If you have special accessibility needs, please contact Service Oshawa.
Reminders
Please exercise caution when approaching line marking operation and follow all temporary condition and warning signs. Driving on fresh paint can
- cause damage to your vehicle
- reduce the quality of the road markings
