A Killdeer, a federally protected bird species, has established a nest on the BMX dirt track at Rose Valley Park. As a result, portions of the BMX track will be closed until further notice.
Major transportation upgrades are underway across Oshawa – including work on Simcoe St. S., Wilson Rd. S., and Park Rd. S. These projects are led and scheduled by Metrolinx and the Ministry of Transportation and not the City. During construction, detours will be in place – but pavilions participating in Fiesta Week and all nearby businesses remain open.
Harmony Creek trail will be closed North of Hillcroft St. E. and Rossland Rd. E. on June 12 between 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for removal of a large tree.
The Donevan Recreation Complex pool will be closed for annual maintenance Thursday, June 18 and will reopen Monday, June 29. The changerooms will also be closed during this pool maintenance period.
Centre St. S. is closed between King St. W. and John St. W. and Metcalfe St. between Centre St. S. and Simcoe St. S. on Sunday, June 21 for Fiesta Concert and Street Festival.
The Civic Recreation Complex pool will be closed for annual maintenance June 8 and will reopen June 18.
From May 4 to October 15, 2026, traffic line painting will occur on various roadways and intersections, primarily on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The City of Oshawa will be replacing existing pathway surfaces as well as completing minor repairs and improvements throughout Lakeview Park. This project is anticipated to be completed this fall. The work will be done in a phased approach to limit user impact.
The pedestrian stairs on the west side of Ritson Rd. S leading to Graburn Ave. are closed until further notice
Renaissance Park playground is closed effective immediately due to ponding water and will remain closed until further notice.
