Convergence Music & Art Festival returns to downtown Oshawa this weekend

Downtown Oshawa is getting ready to come alive this weekend as the Convergence Music & Art Festival returns Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20, bringing two full days of live music, art, entertainment, shopping and unique experiences to the heart of the city.

Presented by Oshawa Tourism, Convergence has grown into one of Oshawa’s signature events, welcoming tens of thousands of people downtown for a festival designed to celebrate music, creativity, culture and community.

This year’s festival will feature three stages of live music over two days, with an exciting lineup of Canadian artists.

When: Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: Downtown Oshawa

Road Closures: There will be a number of road closures throughout downtown Oshawa for the event on September 19 and 20. Increased traffic around the downtown core is anticipated. Please plan your travel accordingly.

Throughout the weekend, downtown Oshawa will be transformed with out-of-this-world art installations and activations, the Punk Rock Flea Market, Nerd Alley, a vintage market, live professional wrestling, local vendors, food, interactive experiences and entertainment for all ages.

The City of Oshawa is pleased to deliver free family-friendly art activities as part of Convergence this year, on September 19 and 20 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Veterans Square (a.k.a. “Creativity Corner” during the festival). Visit oshawa.ca/ArtEvents for more information about Creativity Corner.

Convergence also provides an opportunity to showcase Oshawa’s growing arts, culture and entertainment scene while encouraging visitors to discover the restaurants, shops and businesses that make up the city’s downtown.
