Support Hunger Action Month with your donation

The City of Oshawa is partnering with other Durham Region municipalities once again in support of National Hunger Action Month this September to raise awareness and collect food and monetary donations to fight hunger in the community.

The need across Durham remains significant. Over 880,000 visits were made to a food program in Feed the Need in Durham’s network of 70 community food programs last year, highlighting the important role emergency food support continues to play across the region.

From September 9 to October 5, donation bins will be available at Oshawa City Hall, City recreation centres, Oshawa fire halls and at the OSCC55+ John Street Branch. A full list of Oshawa drop-off locations and addresses is available at oshawa.ca/FeedTheNeed.

Donations will support Feed the Need in Durham and participating local food banks, helping get food and other essential items to people who need them. View Feed the Need’s most needed items.

Make your donation go further: For every $1 donated, Feed the Need in Durham can collect, store and distribute two meals and other needed products. Donate online.
