Citizen Volunteer Award
The City of Oshawa Citizen Volunteer Award celebrates someone who volunteers their service to Oshawa community-based organizations where their service benefits the quality of life in Oshawa.
Eligibility
For the purposes of this program, nominations are subject to the following criteria:
- Volunteers must be a member of an Oshawa-based organization/agency.
- If payment is received for any services provided, individuals do not qualify for recognition.
- All volunteers must be currently active in their volunteerism.
- Recognition will be provided to each volunteer only once for each organization/agency for which they volunteer.
- Volunteers must be nominated by their organization/agency (cannot self-nominate).
- The nominator must provide all background information concerning the volunteer service.
- Each organization/agency is permitted to nominate two individuals annually.
- Volunteers must have completed at least five years of continuous volunteerism for the organization/agency which is submitting the nomination.
Nomination process
Nominations for the Citizen Volunteer Award are reviewed and evaluated by Legislative Services. Staff will verify all information provided in the application and confirm that the nominee has not previously received the award.
