Traffic, Streetlighting and Crossing Guards
- We all have to do our part to keep the streets of Oshawa safe. It is the responsibility of all road users, drivers, cyclists and pedestrians to ensure each other's safety and wellbeing. For more information, please visit the City’s Traffic Safety web page.
- Lighting on roadways and walkways is maintained by the City of Oshawa. Access Service Oshawa Online to report a streetlight out.
- Crossing Guards perform approximately 1.5 million crossings each school year through all weather conditions. Oshawa's crossing guards provide an invaluable service to our community. Crossing guards are employees of the City and are community members of the neighbourhood where they work. Crossing guards are governed by the Ontario Highway Traffic Act and trained to safely assist students to and from school.
