Development Planning

• • zoning
  • amendments to the Official Plan and Samac Secondary Plan
  • telecommunication tower facilities
  • processing planning applications related to condominiums, subdivisions and site plans requiring Official Plan amendments and/or zoning amendments
  • Committee of Adjustment (minor variances or consents)
  • Street Naming policy

Urban Design and Landscaped Architecture

• • processing sign variance applications 
  • maintain Sign By-law
  • processing planning applications related to site plans
  • urban design awards

Policy:

• • long range planning
  • Official Plan reviews
  • land use and Planning Studies
  • Community Improvement Plans
  • coordination of Heritage Oshawa and the Oshawa Environmental Advisory committees
  • research and analysis on population, housing, and employment
  • ensures compliance with Envision Durham and provincial policies
  • management of the City’s real estate portfolio
