National Youth Week

National Youth Week is an annual, week-long series of free events and activities dedicated to youth. Events are designed to celebrate youth culture and are organized by the Oshawa Youth Council and City of Oshawa in collaboration with our community partner, BGC Durham.

Get on Board

Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Location: South Oshawa Community Centre, 1455 Cedar St.
Ages: 10-17
Registration: drop-in
Description: Gather your friends and Get On Board for an exciting board game night at South Oshawa Community Centre! Whether you love strategy games or games that make you laugh out loud, this event is the perfect way to compete, and connect. Free for youth!

BGC Durham's Youth DODGEBALL Tournament

Time: 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Location: Northview Community Centre, 150 Beatrice St. E.  
Ages: 13+
Registration: drop-in
Description: Come celebrate National Youth Week and test your skills in a friendly game of Dodgeball. Sign-in and blind draws for teams will take place from 6:30-7:00 pm. You must come before 7:00 p.m. to be placed on a team, anyone arriving after 7:00 p.m. can be a sub.  Number of games played will be determined by number of teams. Games begin at 7:00 pm. BGC Durham's Clubhouse Rock Youth Night

Time: 6 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
Location: 433 Eulalie Ave
Ages: 13+
Registration: drop-in

Paint Night 

Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Location: Arts Resource Centre, 45 Queen St.
Ages: 12-17
Registration: register online
Description: Embrace creativity and join us for Paint Night! Whether you're an experienced artist or just picking up a brush for the first time, this is your chance to express yourself and create something amazing. Free for youth!

BGC Durham's Jr. Youth Social at Northview 

Time: 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Location: Northview Community Centre, 150 Beatrice St. E.  
Ages: 11-13
Registration: drop-in
Description: Come celebrate National Youth Week and enjoy a fun filled evening of socially inspired activities. Take part in many different activities from billiards, board games, foosball, cards and/or spoons.  Snacks and refreshments will be served. 100 Voices Youth Symposium - presented by BGC Durham with local youth agencies

Time: 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Location: Northview Community Centre, 150 Beatrice St. E.
Ages: 13+
Registration: register online
Description: Be one of 100 Youth to participate in this Youth-led Symposium. Join us for a fun and upbeat day. Share your voice through various workshops, make new friends, and enjoy many giveaways and prizes. Beach Party Swim Night 

Time: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Delpark Homes Centre, 1661 Harmony Rd. N.
Ages: 10-17
Registration: drop-in
Description: Grab your swimsuits and get ready to make a splash at our Youth Night Swim, Beach Party Edition! With free admission for youth ages 10 to 17, it’s the perfect chance to dive in and cool off. The slide and water features will be operating during this swim.  Regular pool rules will apply.

BGC Durham’s 3X3 Basketball Tournament

Time: 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Location: Northview Community Centre, 150 Beatrice St. E.  
Ages: 13+
Registration: drop-in
Description: Come celebrate National Youth Week and join us on the court for a 3X3 Basketball Tournament. Sign-in as a team or be placed on a team via blind draws between 6:30-7:00 pm. You must come before 7:00 p.m. to be play in this tournament.  Number of games played will be determined by number of teams. Games begin at 7:00 pm. Refreshments and energy snacks will be served. BGC Durham’s Flag Football

Time: 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Location: Northview Community Centre, 150 Beatrice St. E.
Ages: 13+
Registration: drop-in
Description: Come enjoy a 5 vs 5 flag football tournament for youth week. Sign in as a team or be placed on a team between 6:30-7:00pm. You must arrive before 7:00pm in order to play in the tournament. The number of games played will be determined by the number of teams. Games begin at 7:00pm. BGC of Durham’s Free Fun Swim at Eastview

Time: 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Location: 433 Eulalie Ave
Ages: 6+
Registration: drop-in
Description: Calling all youth, come use our waterslide, pool toys and enjoy organized pool games. For more information please visit: National Youth Week - BGC Durham.
