    The work involves the reconstruction of Thornton Road North to a two-lane road with bike lanes, a multi-use path on the east side, and installation of new storm sewers and Regional services such as sanitary sewers water main systems.

  • Paid parking coming to Oshawa’s waterfront May 15

    The City of Oshawa is introducing paid parking at Lakeview Park and Ed Broadbent Waterfront Park, effective annually from May 15 to October 15 on weekends, public holidays (Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day and Thanksgiving Day) and during City led events.

  • Oshawa encourages wildlife proofing amid coyote denning season

    Oshawa residents may notice more coyote activity in early spring as coyotes begin denning after their winter mating season, and the City encourages residents to wildlife‑proof their properties to prevent den sites.

    People who suspect a nearby den should contact Service Oshawa, avoid the area, and keep dogs leashed.

  • Oshawa achieves top-level Milestone in the Partners for Climate Protection program

    The City of Oshawa is proud to announce that it has achieved Milestone 5 of the Partners for Climate Protection (PCP) program’s Milestone Framework, marking progress in reducing local greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the city. With this accomplishment, the City has now completed all five PCP milestones at both the corporate and community levels.

  • Notice to extend Oshawa Creek Recreation Trail – Conlin Rd. E. to Windfields Farm Dr. E.

    The City of Oshawa is preparing detailed designs to pave and extend the existing granular Oshawa Creek Recreation Trail from Conlin Road E. north to Britannia Ave. E. and Britannia Ave. E. north to Windfields Farm Dr. E.

    Community members are invited to submit feedback to Service Oshawa. Feedback will be received until 4 p.m. on Thursday April 23, 2026, and will be considered as part of the design.

  • DRIVE, led by the City of Oshawa, named one of OVIN’s Regional Technology Development Sites advancing next-gen mobility

    The City of Oshawa is proud to announce that the Durham Region Innovation and Vehicle Ecosystem (DRIVE) has been designated as one of OVIN’s nine Regional Technology Development Sites (RTDS).

    The City of Oshawa and its partners thank the Government of Ontario for their investment in DRIVE, announced today at Ontario Tech University’s Automotive Centre of Excellence. The Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN) will invest up to $2 million in DRIVE, which has also secured over $2.4 million in matching industry investment and over $2.5 million in broader public sector supports that includes access to municipal pilot opportunities for real-world demonstration zones, mentorship, workspace and co-location services, and acceleration support. This establishes a total investment of nearly $7 million providing small- and medium-sized enterprises access to specialized equipment, advanced testing, opportunities to capital and advisory support to drive advanced automotive technologies, and smart mobility solutions forward.
