The City of Oshawa provides accessible and inclusive recreation opportunities for participants of all abilities.
1:1 or 1:2 support can be requested for participants who benefit from additional support to be successful in a typical recreational program. Requests are processed in the order they are received and based on the availability of inclusion staff. Support is not guaranteed. Participants may provide their own support staff to assist if desired.
All participants requesting inclusion support are required to complete the inclusion services participant profile. The Inclusion Coordinator will confirm if the request for inclusion support has been fulfilled.

You can request 1:1 or 1:2 inclusion support for any registered program listed on activeOshawa Online. Sign up for your program/camp of choice and the corresponding inclusion support course.
The South Oshawa Community Centre Pool is currently closed for an extended reconstruction project. The ongoing construction may result in noise and dust around the facility. Staff will make every effort to adapt camp programming to minimize impact on participants. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

Participants may provide their own external support workers to assist them. Families that use an external support worker must cover any extra costs the support worker incurs related to a program. We may request personal information from the support worker for emergencies.
External support workers must submit a Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (within the last six months) and proof of valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification to the Inclusion Services Coordinator
What to do if I'm going to be absent?
If the participant of inclusion services will be absent, contact the Inclusions Services Coordinator at 905-436-3311, ext. 2162.
The City of Oshawa is excited to offer VOLT Hockey, an adaptive and inclusive program supported by Variety Village. VOLT hockey is played in specially designed motorized chairs, making it accessible to individuals who may not have had the chance to participate in team sports before.
Oshawa's VOLT Hockey program is available for person ages 11 and older. Previous hockey experience is not required and all equipment is provided. Personal support workers and assistive devices are welcome. To learn more about this program and how to register, email the Inclusion Services Coordinator or call 905 436-3311 ext. 2162.
