Drop-In Sports

Admission fees

Please arrive at the facility during the scheduled time and pay applicable admissions fees at the reception desk. Some activities may require advanced booking via activeOshawa Online or by calling 905-436-3311. Oshawa residents 55 years of age and older, living in or paying property taxes in Oshawa, qualify for discounts on recreation programs, memberships and leisure admission fees.

Memberships are available for 1, 3, 6 and 12 month durations.

Descriptions and rules

The City of Oshawa offers a variety of drop-in sports, including:

A popular program for participants of all ages. Participants are encouraged to bring their own racquets. Birdies are available for use.

  • Advance booking is required. Members can book up to one day in advance. 
  • All players must check-in at the reception desk.
  • Members must scan their membership card. Card must be shown to gymnasium staff before access to the courts.
  • Non-members are to pay the drop-in fee and show photo I.D. before access to the courts.
  • Only those with reserved time will be allowed access.
  • Players can only reserve and play one court time (1 hour) per day and will be admitted into the gym at their reserved time.
  • There is a maximum of 12 registered players (4 players per court).

Join your friends for a friendly game of pick-up basketball! Games are supervised but unstructured.

  • Advance booking is required. Members can book up to one day in advance. 
  • All players must check-in at the reception desk.
  • Shoes must be non-marking indoor shoes.
  • Spectators are not permitted.
  • There is a maximum of 25 participants per session (wristbands/stamps will be issued prior to entry on the court and must be visible on participants during play).

Provides families the chance to play on an indoor field in an unstructured environment. Open to families with children ages 15 and under.

  • No advance booking required.
  • All sports equipment provided.
  • All participants (guardians and children) must check in and pay applicable fees at reception.
  • Maximum of 24 participants per session.
  • Ratio of 1 adult to 4 children.
  • Guardians (18+) must actively participate in play.
  • Quarter field soccer games are not allowed during Family Open Sports.

Join us for fun and exercise.

  • Advance booking is not required.
  • Pickleballs and paddles are available for use.
  • All participants must check-in at the reception desk.
  • Members must scan their membership card. Card must be shown to gymnasium staff before access to the courts.
  • Non-members are to pay the drop-in fee and show photo I.D. before access to the courts.
  • There is a maximum 40 participants per session at Children’s Arena and 25 participants per session at Delpark Homes Centre. At South Oshawa Community Centre, the maximum number of participants allowed is dependent on dates and times of available courts.
  • Wristbands will be issued prior to entry on the court and must be visible on participants during play.

Provides age appropriate activities for preschoolers 0 to 6 years and their parents/guardians to play and socialize in an unstructured environment.

  • Advance booking is not required.
  • Participants are asked to bring indoor footwear to play.
  • Parents/guardians are to remain on-site to supervise their participants. 
  • There is a maximum of 25 participants per session.

Provides the opportunity for low intensity, recreational soccer. Games are played on a quarter field. Balls and nets are provided. 

  • Advance booking is not required.
  • All participants must meet the minimum age requirement (i.e. 18 years of age or older for Low Intensity Recreational Soccer 18+ or 35 years or older for Low Intensity Recreational Soccer 35+).
  • All participants are required to have a Drop-in Sports Photo ID Card.
  • All participants must check-in at the reception desk to get their wristband and provide Drop-in Sports Photo ID Card.
  • Spectators are not allowed during this drop-in soccer time. 
  • Food and drink are not permitted.
  • There is a maximum of 24 participants per quarter field.
