The Oshawa Youth Council is no longer accepting new members for the 2025-26 school year.

O.Y.C. goals:

Get youth more involved within the community
Bring youth ideas to life
Engage in activities that support well-being, socialization, and leadership development
Create opportunities for youth to learn new skills through volunteering and event participation
Support inclusive spaces where all youth feel welcome, valued, and heard
Build connections between youth and local organizations, programs, and services

OYC member bios

Hello, my name is Aditya. I am in eighth grade and joined the Oshawa Youth Council to gain and experiences that will help me to gain employable skills. Outside of the Oshawa Youth Council, I play badminton and am on the cross country team. The Oshawa Youth Council is a great place to grow and get involved within the community, I recommend that everyone give the council a shot.

Hello, my name is Ben and I have two years of high school under my belt. I joined the Oshawa Youth Council after I found out that I could have a big impact on the community. I am in 2 bands at school and I play bass guitar. I can’t wait to help out my community again this year.

Hi my name is Grace and I am a Youth Mentor on the Oshawa Youth Council. I joined the Oshawa Youth council to enhance my leadership skills and to give back to my community and to build new connections. At school, I am a grade 11 minister on my student council and am on my schools leadership committee. In my free time, I enjoy reading, going to concerts, and spending time with my mom.

Hey! My name is Leandra! I am in 11th grade and I love to run! My passions are advocacy, social justice, and environmental sustainability. I joined the Oshawa Youth Council because I hope to bring fun new ideas and activities related to youth in the city. I am more than excited to work with other young leaders to not only make Oshawa more fun, but also to make a real impact on this beautiful town.

My name is Muhammad and I am currently in high school. I joined the Oshawa Youth Council as I have an interest in community services and to discuss civic issues. Outside of school, I love to go swimming and volunteer at the local nursing home.

Hi, my name is Paisley I am in the ninth grade. I joined the Oshawa Youth Council when I was in sixth grade and this is my fourth year on the council. I love to volunteer with the Oshawa Youth Council because I want to make a positive impact on the community. Outside of the Oshawa Youth Council, I am part of a running club, and I love to spend time outdoors with my sisters!
