Teen Weight Training Course

Youth ages 13 to 17 must complete the Teen Weight Training Course before accessing any City of Oshawa fitness centre. This course provides instruction on how to use fitness equipment safely, develop proper weight training techniques, and gain confidence working out in a fitness centre environment.

The course consists of two parts:

  1. Online learning and quiz:
Participants will receive the Teen Weight Training Manual and must review the material and successfully complete a quiz.

  2. Practical test:
After completing the quiz, participants will complete a practical test with a City fitness staff member. Staff will contact participants directly to arrange the date, time, and location of the test.

Registration

The course fee is $36. A parent or guardian must register the youth in person at one of the following facilities:

  • Civic Recreation Complex
  • Delpark Homes Centre
  • South Oshawa Community Centre
