Culture Days
Culture Days is a national celebration of arts and culture. At the end of each September and throughout October, millions of people attend thousands of free participatory arts and culture events both in-person and online. Culture Days programs invite the public to get hands-on and behind-the-scenes to highlight the importance of arts and culture in our communities. To learn more, visit Culture Days' website.
Oshawa Culture Days 2023
Celebrate arts, culture and heritage with the City of Oshawa on Saturday, October 14. Hear local photographer Shay Conroy at Ed Broadbent Waterfront Park, 169 Harbour Rd., for an artist talk from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Join us at South Oshawa Community Centre, 1455 Cedar St., from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and participate in free drop-in arts, culture and heritage activities for all ages. Several of these activities were selected from our Call for Artist-Initiated Projects.

“Port of Prosper” explores the industrial side of Oshawa’s waterfront. Focusing in on the active port and former harbour grounds, this photo-based work highlights a part of Oshawa that is historic and current, yet seemingly overlooked.

Ting’s peony painting is a type of traditional Chinese painting with unique techniques to paint peonies on rice paper fans. This workshop is for ages 16 and up. To register, please email [email protected].

The mural will digitally extend into a 3D scene that viewers can walk around and explore using a mobile device. Inspired by the devastating effects of global warming across every province and territory—from burning forests to melting glaciers—their work prompts viewers to question the future of Canada's urban landscape. The mural will be completed Tuesday, October 17 and be installed until Thursday, November 16, 2023.

You can also visit community partner stations with Oshawa Museum and Oshawa Public Libraries!
Join City staff for the 2023 Culture Report presentation, providing insight into cultural and community programs and events offered throughout the year.
