June is Recreation and Parks Month is a movement that promotes the benefits of recreation and parks for physical, social, and environmental health. The City of Oshawa embraces June is Recreation and Parks Month as a way to promote our programs and events, parks and facilities that are available for all community members to enjoy.

More ideas to keep you active throughout the month of June and beyond
- Join in and play with the Playground Program at your local park throughout July and August. Free park programs for children age five to 12 years available Monday to Friday.
- Visit Lakeview Park. Kids will enjoy the splash pad and playground. Everyone will enjoy the sun, beach and natural surroundings.
- Bring a kite, baseball glove, soccer ball or frisbee to your local park. Don't forget to invite your friends.
- Ride your bike along a stretch of our many kilometres of scenic trails. Make sure to wear your helmet.
- Be sure to check out the skateboard parks at Delpark Homes Centre, Donevan Recreation Complex, and North Oshawa Park
