South Oshawa Community Centre Pool Reconstruction Project
The South Oshawa Community Centre (SOCC) pool is temporarily closed for essential repairs to ensure safe operation. All aquatic programs at SOCC are suspended until further notice.
Project updates
Work is progressing on the South Oshawa Community Centre Pool reconstruction. Earlier this year, the pool floor was capped to allow for scaffolding installation and ceiling removal. The next phase of construction is now underway, including upgrades to the building’s foundation drainage system and improvements to ensure proper access to the pool area’s fire suppression system.
What's included in the project?
The reconstruction includes the pool and related structures, along with necessary upgrades to the sprinkler system to meet Ontario Building Code requirements. By combining both projects, we aim to reduce disruptions and complete the work more efficiently.
Here's what to expect:
- Fencing and safety signage around the work area.
-
Some areas of the facility may experience temporary closures as work progresses.
- Excavation work around the facility.
-
Temporary sidewalk closures and detours along Cedar Street.
-
Residents and facility users may experience increased noise levels at times.
We are working hard to minimize disruptions and complete the project as quickly and efficiently as possible.
