  • Properties designated individually under Part IV, Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act;
  • Properties designated within a Heritage Conservation District under Part V, Section 41 of the Ontario Heritage Act;

Heritage Oshawa Inventory

The Heritage Oshawa Inventory of City of Oshawa Heritage Properties identifies properties of potential cultural heritage value or interest in Oshawa and includes properties evaluated and identified as 'Class A' or 'Class B' by Heritage Oshawa.

‘Class A' properties have a very high potential for designation. 'Class B' properties have good potential for designation.

Heritage Plaque Program

The Heritage Oshawa Historic Building Plaque Program identifies and showcases architecturally and historically significant resources in our community.

You may be considered for a plaque if your property is listed on either the City of Oshawa municipal register or the Heritage Oshawa Inventory and/or has historical and/or architectural significance.

The plaque identifies your property as a cultural heritage resource of the City. This recognition does not restrict the use of the property or impose obligations, and it will not limit the sale of the property nor enable public access to private property.
