Financial Statements

Section 88.25 of the Act requires candidates to file a completed Form 4 – Financial Statement Auditor’s Report with the City Clerk on or before 2:00 pm on March 31, 2023, documenting all contributions received and expenses incurred by the candidate from the date they filed their nomination up to and including the end of the campaign period that ends on December 31, 2022.

If a candidate has incurred expenses in excess of $10,000 or received contributions over $10,000, the Form 4 submitted must also include an auditor’s report completed by an auditor licensed under the Public Accounting Act, 2004.

Extension of Campaign Period

The campaign period ends on December 31, 2022; however, candidates may choose to extend their campaign period if they have a deficit at the time their campaign would otherwise end by submitting a completed Form 6 – Extension of Campaign Period. Given the City’s business hours throughout the holidays, the final date to submit a Form 6 requesting an extension of the campaign period was January 2, 2023 at 4:30 p.m.

Extension of the campaign period does not eliminate the need to file a Financial Statement on March 31, 2023. It does, however, impose a requirement to file Supplementary Financial Statements with the City Clerk by September 29, 2023 covering the six-month period following the year of the election, or until the deficit is eliminated, whichever is shorter.

Should a candidate miss the deadline to file their Supplementary Financial Statement, the same penalties apply as if the candidate failed to file their original Financial Statement on March 31, 2023.

Posting of Financial Statements

The following is a list of all individuals who registered as a candidate or third party advertiser for the 2022 Municipal and School Board Elections. Where a candidate or registrant has filed their financial statement, notice of extension or supplemental statement, the filed form will be posted below.

Financial Forms for Candidate can be found on our Resources for Candidates page. The preliminary and final certificates of maximum permitted expenses can also be found there.
