Holiday Hours: Canada Day
City recreation facilities will operate on modified hours of operation on Tuesday, July 1, Canada Day.
Tuesday, July 1- Camp Samac Outdoor Pool open for public swimming.
- Delpark Homes Centre open 11 a.m. to 5p.m.
- Lakeview Park Beach supervised by lifeguards from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., weather permitting.
- All other recreation facilities are closed and activeOshawa registered recreation programs are cancelled.

Celebrate safely: Fireworks tips and neighbourly reminders for Canada Day

As we prepare to celebrate Canada Day, Oshawa Fire Services reminds community members to keep fire safety and their neighbours in mind when lighting fireworks.
Under the City’s Fireworks By-law, community members can discharge Consumer (Family) Fireworks on their private property without a permit between dusk and 11 p.m. on:
- Victoria Day (May 19, 2025);
- Canada Day (July 1, 2025); and,
- Diwali (October 20, 2025).
Using fireworks outside the allotted time can result in fines of up to $100,000. Learn...
Canada Day Celebration Road Closure

Road closures in effect for the City of Oshawa's Canada Day Celebration, including Simcoe St., Valley Dr., and Lakeview Park Ave.
When: July 1, 2025, beginning at 7 a.m. until 12 a.m.
Where: Impacted roads include Simcoe St., south of Harbour Rd., Valley Dr., from Ritson Rd. to Simcoe St., and Lakeview Park Ave., from Ritson Rd. to Simcoe St.

Civic Recreation Complex Washroom Repairs

The main floor washrooms at the Civic Recreation Complex are closed for construction and repair until further notice. Community members are asked to use alternative washrooms at the Civic Fieldhouse while construction is ongoing.
