Recreation Services
Recreation Services is responsible for the delivery of recreation, leisure and cultural opportunities that help create healthy communities and engaged citizens. This includes:
- planning and delivery of recreation programs
- promotion and operation of recreation facilities and community centres
- delivery of leisure services and programs
The branch is also responsible for operating Union Cemetery
Programs and Facilities
- Responsible for the management of fitness and leisure programs as well as general interest, sports and aquatic programs at the City of Oshawa recreation facilities.
Facility Operations
Responsible for maintaining the physical operation of all City recreation facilities, arenas, outdoor pools and the Memorial Park Bandshell.
Cemetery Services
- Operate and maintain Union Cemetery and maintain eight other inactive cemeteries
- Sales of plots, niches, monuments and markers
- Transfer of interment rights
- Memorial trees and benches for individual tributes
- Guided tours of Union Cemetery for groups and school trips
Centralized Recreation Services
Responsible for facility booking, program registration and memberships and analytics for recreation programs.
