The City of Oshawa is excited to announce its summer Events in the Park entertainment series, presented by TD Bank. Kicking off the summer lineup with an interactive Latin dance performance by Happy Feet Dance Studio on Tuesday, July 15, at 7 p.m. in Memorial Park, located in downtown Oshawa.

Wild Parsnip and Cow Parsnip are now flowering in Oshawa. The plants look like colourful wildflowers often found along the edges of parks, open spaces, trails and roadsides until the autumn. However, these toxic weeds are a growing concern across Ontario and can pose a health risk to people and pets.

Great news for Oshawa’s waterfront! Following recent upgrades, the Oshawa pier has reopened, offering Lakeview Park visitors a place to stroll, relax and enjoy the view.
To help ensure public safety, visitors are reminded that, in accordance with By-Law 83-2000, activities such as diving or swimming off the pier, fishing, climbing on the railings and docking boats are not permitted.

Service Oshawa will be closed on Tuesday, July 1. Customer Service Representatives will be available at Service Oshawa on Saturday, June 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Celebrate safely: Fireworks tips and neighbourly reminders for Canada Day

As we prepare to celebrate Canada Day, Oshawa Fire Services reminds community members to keep fire safety and their neighbours in mind when lighting fireworks.
Under the City’s Fireworks By-law, community members can discharge Consumer (Family) Fireworks on their private property without a permit between dusk and 11 p.m. on:
- Victoria Day (May 19, 2025);
- Canada Day (July 1, 2025); and,
- Diwali (October 20, 2025).
Using fireworks outside the allotted time can result in fines of up to $100,000. Learn...
