Call for Artists – Artist-Initiated Projects

The City of Oshawa is excited to launch our first-ever artist-initiated open call. We are eager to engage with local artists to create more space for arts and culture and share unique and novel experiences with the public. This program provides increased support for artists, collectives, and arts groups by providing the opportunity for the arts, culture and heritage community to propose project ideas.

Community Awards nominations now being accepted

The City of Oshawa is calling for nominations of individuals, collectives and organizations that have made a positive contribution in the community.
The City is now accepting nominations for the following community awards:
- Community Legend Award;
- Oshawa Culture Counts Awards; and,
- E.P. Taylor Windfields Farm Champion Award.
Nominations will be accepted until 5 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Oshawa City Council will present recipients with their awards at a Council meeting in spring 2023.

The City of Oshawa is calling on you to help shape the future of Oshawa’s parks, recreation, library and culture facilities.
The Parks, Recreation, Library and Culture Facility Needs Assessment (P.R.L.C.) guides investment in indoor and outdoor facilities in both established and new growth areas for all Oshawa residents. The city has experienced tremendous growth since the last P.R.L.C. in 2015, and as a result, Oshawa community members are invited to help inform this update.

The City of Oshawa invites community members to help uplift spirits this holiday season by participating in the City of Oshawa’s Share Your Holiday Spirit Contest.
Community members can enter the Share Your Holiday Spirit Contest by submitting a photo at Oshawa.ca/holidaycontest.
