Road Closure: The access to Taylorwood Rd from Simcoe Street North will be closed

Road Closure: Due to the sewer work happening on Taylorwood Road, the access to Taylorwood Rd from Simcoe Street North will be closed from May 10 to June 25, 2023.
The asphalt will be replaced on Taylorwood Rd in Oshawa. We will also replace the watermain, subdrains and curbs in the roadway.
Where: Intersection of Simcoe St. N. and Taylorwood Rd.
When: May 10 to June 25, 2023
Please review the detour plan that will be applied and followed.

Roadway update: Traffic line painting in progress
Where: Various roadways and intersections
Work will be complete during the overnight hours.
When: From May 1, 2023 to September 30, 2023
Why: To refresh the various intersection line markings such as stop bars, crosswalks and short centerlines.
Please exercise caution when approaching line marking operation and follow all temporary condition and warning signs.

City of Oshawa welcomes Ontario Parasport Games this weekend

The City of Oshawa welcomes hundreds of visitors this weekend as the Durham Region 2023 Ontario Parasport Games bring more than 500 participants, including athletes, organizers and volunteers, to compete in over ten sports. Three of the eight competition venues are located right here in Oshawa.

Rose Valley Community Park

The City of Oshawa is seeking input from the community on the design of a destination playground for Rose Valley Community Park. Located at 1095 Thornton Rd. N., this Park is proposed to include a playground, pickleball courts, formal gardens passive walking trails and enhancements to the B.M.X. Park.

City of Oshawa records strongest year of building activity with over $900 million in permit values

The City of Oshawa is pleased to report that building permit activity in 2022 exceeded any year in Oshawa’s recorded history. Oshawa’s previous building permit record was set in 2017 at $614 million. In 2022, the City shattered that record with more than $900 million in building permit values!
