Community Tree Planting at Gold Point Wildlife Reserve Gets a Boost
Help bring new life to the Gold Point Wildlife Reserve! On Saturday, May 3, join LEAF (Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests), in partnership with Tree Canada and Trees for Life and fellow community members for a tree planting event dedicated to restoring this natural space. The event takes place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at 1210 Phillip Murray Avenue. Advance registration is required.
Attendees are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes or boots, bring gardening gloves if available, and dress for the weather, as the event will go ahead rain or shine.
The City of Oshawa extends its gratitude to event sponsor Walton Restoration, who’s generous $11,000 contribution is helping make this initiative possible. A family-run business with over 40 years of service in the Durham Region, Walton Restoration will also be joining the planting. A special tree will be planted in memory of the company’s founder, Harold Wotten.
