The City of Oshawa is currently accepting community feedback to help shape and inform a Feasibility Study related to the conversion of the Arts Resource Centre into a cultural hub.
City staff are investigating the possibility of developing an arts venue that can develop and support professional artistic and creative practices, adding capacity for arts and culture within Oshawa, and are seeking community feedback in this initial research phase. Co-existing with Coyotes presentation now online

Members of the community are invited to watch the February 16 virtual information session on “Co-existing with Coyotes”.
A video recording of the information session is now available online on the City’s Coyotes website (Oshawa.ca/Coyotes), in addition to the presentations from Municipal Law Enforcement, Coyote Watch Canada and the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry.

Oshawa residents encouraged to wildlife proof their property during coyote denning season

Oshawa community members may notice an increase in coyote sightings or activity at this time of the year as coyotes start denning to raise their pups in March and April.
Winter months are the mating period for coyotes, while in March they begin seeking out a den to rear their pups. To minimize encounters during this time, residents and property owners are encouraged to wildlife proof their property to prevent coyotes from denning.

As sightings and human-coyote interactions increase in Oshawa, the safety of the community remains the City’s top priority. In response, the City is hosting a virtual information session including presentations from Municipal Law Enforcement, Coyote Watch Canada and the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry.

Metrolinx Notice: Provide your input on Durham-Scarborough Bus Rapid Transit Environmental Project Report

Metrolinx is asking for the public’s help as the Durham-Scarborough Bus Rapid Transit (DSBRT) project takes an important next step in the transit building process.
The transit agency issued a Notice of Completion for the DSBRT Environmental Project Report (EPR) and is asking the public to review the report up until February 22, 2022.
