Brock and Colborne Streets two-way conversion begins July 21
Following a Feasibility Study and public consultation, Oshawa City Council recently approved converting Colborne St. E. (from Centre St. N. to Division St.) and Brock St. E. (from Simcoe St. N. to Division St.) from one-way to two-way traffic operations.
Why: The City will be undertaking the process of repainting and re-signing these streets for two-way traffic.
What: Completed work will include new stop signs where necessary, removal of one-way signs and 15-metre yellow centre lines painted at each intersection.
When: The City’s contractor will commence work on or about July 21, 2025. The work is expected to be completed within a few days. Unfavourable weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances may impact the work schedule.
What to expect:
Minor disruptions to traffic flow are expected, however both traffic and pedestrian movement will be maintained at all times. Traffic control measures will be in place to facilitate the work and ensure safety. The Contractor will post all necessary temporary conditions signage before the work begins.
Please exercise caution when approaching line-marking operations and follow all temporary condition and warning signs. Driving on fresh paint can cause damage to your vehicle and can compromise the quality of the reflective paint.
Services and utilities:
We do not anticipate any disruptions to waste, mail delivery or utilities at this time. However, should you experience problems with any of your services or have questions or concerns about this project, please contact Service Oshawa at (905) 436‑3311 or via email at [email protected].
