Call for Artists: Live painting at Convergence 2025

The City of Oshawa is excited to announce a unique live painting opportunity for artists at the Convergence Music and Art Festival 2025. Presented by Oshawa Tourism, this vibrant festival will take place in downtown Oshawa on September 20, 2025. The event celebrates Oshawa’s rich history of music and art by showcasing contemporary talents within our community. 

We are calling on local artists to submit proposals to live paint plastic Muskoka chairs during the festival using acrylic paint. The theme for the artwork is Creating Community Connections. The completed Muskoka chairs will be displayed at up to three City events during 2025.

Submission details:

• Deadline: 12 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025.
• Review process: A selection committee, potentially consisting of representatives from the City’s Cultural Leadership Council, Public Art Task Force, and City staff will evaluate the submissions.
