Celebrate Culture Days with free activities in Oshawa
The City of Oshawa invites community members to come together and celebrate Culture Days 2025, a national event fostering connection with arts and culture. This year’s activities also honour National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a time to reflect, learn and come together through culture and community.
On Saturday, September 27, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., the City will host a free afternoon of activities at the Arts Resource Centre (45 Queen Street, next to Oshawa City Hall).
Visitors can take part in a hands-on art activity, enjoy light refreshments (while supplies last) and attend a free screening of Birth of a Family beginning at 1:30 p.m. This moving documentary, provided by the National Film Board of Canada, follows a family dealing with the repercussions of the Residential School system and the Sixties Scoop. These realities are harsh and some potentially upsetting scenes and outdated language are included. Viewer discretion is advised.
