Celebrate local art at the Convergence Music & Art Festival
Downtown Oshawa will transform into a hub of music, art and creativity during the Convergence Music & Art Festival on Friday, September 19 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, September 20 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
This free two-day event, organized by Oshawa Tourism, features Juno-nominated headliner Valley, alongside performances by Aysanabee, Frank Mighty, Zakisha and more. Festival goers can also experience art up close in the Art Zone or walk through immersive art installations.
The City of Oshawa is excited to deliver free family-friendly arts activities as part Convergence on September 20 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Civic Square.
Local artists Danielle Alexander, Jamaica Bridgett, Vicky the Real Artist, Vidhya Srijesh, Ally Wang and Theresa Wyatt will be live painting Muskoka chairs throughout the day. Selected through a Call for Artists, each artist brings a unique perspective and style. Stop by the Civic Square throughout the day to see their paintings come to life.
A collaborative chalk mural will also be set up near the live painting area for all festival goers to contribute to. We encourage everyone to leave their mark and watch the mural evolve with each new addition.
These activities highlight the City of Oshawa’s commitment to the arts, culture and vibrancy of our downtown core. Come connect with local artists, contribute to the mural and celebrate community connections with us at Convergence!
