City of Oshawa Honours Businesses and Community Member with Accessibility Improvement Awards
On Thursday, June 5, following a successful National AccessAbility Week (May 25 – 31) in Oshawa, City Council together with the Oshawa Accessibility Advisory Committee (O.A.A.C.) honoured businesses and residents who have improved access for individuals with disabilities throughout the city. The Accessibility Improvement Awards recognize the outstanding contributions made within the community resulting in greater opportunities for people to live, work and play.
The recipients of this year’s Business-Community Accessibility Improvement Award are:
- Born This Way Dance Inclusion Program
- Canadian Mental Health Association (C.M.H.A.) Durham
- Oshawa Senior Community Centres 55+
- Unifor 222
The recipient of this year’s Resident Accessibility Improvement Award is:
- Dot McFarlane
