Conant Park reopens with new amenities, community cleanup and student volunteers making a difference
The City of Oshawa is excited to announce the revitalization and reopening of Conant Park. More than 60 students from Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School along with local community members came together to celebrate the reopening with a community clean up.
Conant Park is a neighbourhood park located between Ritson Road South and Wentworth Street East in Ward 5, behind Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School.
Key improvements to Conant Park include:
- upgrades to the existing soccer field and the addition of sports field bleachers
- new Junior and Senior playground equipment for ages 2-12 years
- accessible pathways and rest areas; A.O.D.A. compliant playground surfacing, swings and access ramp
- site furnishings including benches, accessible tables and a shade structure
- tree plantings connecting the natural environment throughout the park
- new asphalt parking lot
