Road closure on Columbus Rd. E. and Grandview St. N. to east of Townline Rd.
The Regional Municipality of Durham will be reconstructing Columbus Road East (Regional Road 3) from west of Grandview Street North to east of Townline Road in the City of Oshawa.
Construction Schedule
The Region’s contractor, Hard-Co Construction Ltd., is progressing on the site with work scheduled to be complete in fall 2025. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Road Closures
Columbus Road East will be closed eastbound and westbound from Grandview Street North to Townline Road beginning May 5, 2025 until August of 2025. Local traffic and emergency access will be maintained at all times. Residents should expect traffic delays and are asked to exercise additional caution for the safety of the construction workers. Access to driveways will be maintained whenever possible. Municipal construction projects include the use of equipment which may cause noticeable noise and vibration for nearby residents and businesses. The Region realizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Businesses
Businesses will remain open for the duration of construction. The Region recognizes there may be potential impacts during the work.
