Shape Oshawa Draw Rules & Conditions

As a thank you, community members who submit completed The Corporation of the City of Oshawa’s (the “City”) community engagement forms on live projects (“Feedback Forms”) between 12:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2025 and 4:30 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2025 (the “Deadline”), will have the opportunity to enter a prize draw (the "Shape Oshawa Draw") for the chance to win one (1) of five (5) $25 gift certificates to the Oshawa Centre.

Rules & Conditions for Shape Oshawa Draw

The Shape Oshawa Draw is open to anyone 18 years of age or older who is an Oshawa resident, business or property owner or a student enrolled at a post-secondary institution in Oshawa.

Participants may enter the Shape Oshawa Draw by completing and submitting a Feedback Form(s):

  • online on Connect Oshawa (connectoshawa.ca) between 12:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2025 and 4:30 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2025 by the Deadline; or

  • in-person, on paper at the Shape Oshawa pop-up in the Oshawa Centre on Wednesday, September 24 by 9:00 p.m.

Each completed Feedback Form submitted will count as a new entry.

In order to be considered complete, the Feedback Form(s) must contain constructive input with respect to the form’s topic. The City reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to determine whether a Feedback Form is considered complete to qualify for entry into the Shape Oshawa Draw.

No purchase is required to enter the Shape Oshawa Draw.

The City reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to disqualify any participant who violates the Shape Oshawa Draw Rules & Conditions.

The winners of the Shape Oshawa Draw gift card prizes will be selected by random draw. The odds of being selected to win a gift card will depend on the total number of eligible entries received by the Deadline.

No more than one (1) prize will be awarded to a single person.

The potential winner will be contacted by the City between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025 by the preferred contact method provided on the submitted Feedback Form and receive instructions at that time regarding how to claim the gift card.

If a potential winner does not claim their gift card as directed by the City within five (5) business days of being contacted by the City by email or phone, a new potential prize winner will be selected by random draw. Any subsequent new potential prize winner will have five (5) business days to claim the gift card after receiving notice by the City. This process will continue until the gift card has been claimed.

Prior to claiming the gift card prize, a potential winner must show valid government-issued photo identification, and any other information required by the City in its sole and absolute discretion, to City staff containing a current photo, name and address, or an Oshawa post-secondary institution student card to confirm their identity and eligibility for the Shape Oshawa Draw.

Employees of the City of Oshawa are not eligible for the Shape Oshawa Draw prize.

Substitution prizes are not available and the gift card is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and is not redeemable for cash.

By participating in the Shape Oshawa Draw, Entrants agree that all decisions of the City in relation to the Shape Oshawa Draw, including the determination and awarding of the gift cards, are in the City's sole and absolute discretion and are both final and binding upon the Entrant.

The City reserves the right to cancel the Shape Oshawa Draw at any time for any reason without further notice and without any compensation to any person.

The Entrant acknowledges and agrees that as a condition of accepting the gift card, the Entrant agrees to indemnify the City from and against any and all actions, charges, claims, costs, damages, demands, liabilities, losses, suits, proceedings, costs and expenses, including, but not limited to, claims for personal injury or for property damage, resulting from or relating to the Entrant's participation in the Feedback Forms, the Shape Oshawa Draw or the acceptance, use or misuse of the gift card by the Entrant or any other person.

By participating in the Shape Oshawa Draw, the Entrant hereby releases and holds harmless the City from any and all actions, charges, claims, costs, damages, demands, liabilities, losses, suits, proceedings, costs and expenses, including, but not limited to, claims for personal injury or for property damage, resulting from or relating to the Feedback Forms, the Shape Oshawa Draw or the acceptance, use or misuse of the gift card prize.
