Support for Ukraine’s energy infrastructure
Oshawa City Council is encouraging the Region of Durham, area municipalities and local businesses to consider joining them in making a donation to support the purchase of generators to ease the pressure on Ukraine’s electric grid.
Ukraine’s electricity grids, power plants, water filtration plants and other civilian infrastructure are required. While first responders and repair crews continue to do incredible work to restore the infrastructure, generators are required to ensure a continuous supply of power is available to essential services like hospitals.
Oshawa City Council approved a $10,000 donation to the Consulate General of Ukraine and Ukrainian Canadian Congress Ontario for the purchase of generators.
Businesses and partners are encouraged to help support the people of Ukraine by making a donation. Donations can be made by sending an e-transfer to the Consulate General of Ukraine’s dedicated fundraising email [email protected].
