Accessible voting options widely available in Oshawa’s 2022 Municipal & School Board Elections
All qualified Oshawa electors will have the opportunity to cast their ballot privately and independently in the 2022 Municipal & School Board Elections this October.
The City of Oshawa is taking steps to identify, remove and prevent barriers to Oshawa’s 2022 Municipal & School Board Elections for electors and candidates with a disability, including:
- ensuring accessible voting equipment is available;
- permitting support persons and service animals in voting places to assist voters;
- training Election Officials to deliver accessible service and provide tools/supplies to facilitate voting for persons with disabilities;
- providing in-person voting opportunities to residents of Oshawa’s in long-term care homes, retirement homes and additional care institutions.
The City’s 2022 Municipal & School Board Elections Accessibility Plan is available for review online.
Accessible Voting Equipment
Voters can access accessible voting equipment:
- at every Advance Voting Event across the city; and,
- at City Hall on Voting Day.
All voters can cast their ballot at any Advance Voting Event; voters planning to use the accessible voting equipment on Voting Day can cast their ballot at City Hall, regardless of their ward.
