Application period for the 2024 Oshawa Community Grant Program opens Nov.1
The City of Oshawa will begin accepting applications November 1 for the 2024 Community Grant Program, which provides support to community groups and organizations in Oshawa.
Oshawa City Council approved the new Community Grant Program in October 2021. It offers support under the following four programs:
- Arts, Culture and Heritage Events – funds to support the development and delivery of events, festivals, celebrations and gatherings in Oshawa.
- Arts, Culture and Heritage – Development Projects and Special Initiatives – one-time funding to support the development and presentation of an event, project or initiative within the arts, culture, heritage and environmental sectors.
- Strong Inclusive Communities – funds to support initiatives/events that support healthy, safe, and inclusive community development.
- Fundraising and Oshawa Significant Events – in-kind services support for fundraising and Oshawa significant events held in Oshawa, including facility rental fees, equipment rentals, road closures and other City support.
New this year is a one-time grant program to support the development and delivery of activities throughout 2024 that celebrate Oshawa, in honour of the City’s 100th anniversary.
- Community Centennial Grant– funds to support activities celebrating the people, places, and milestones that connect to the area of Oshawa, its history, present, and/or future, in honour of the City’s 100th anniversary.
The grant program includes a cross-functional grant evaluation committee comprised of City staff members from across the organization, to provide a multi-faceted review of the applications against the Council approved criteria and helps to ensure the equitable allocation of funds and/or in-kind services.
Applications for 2024 grants may be submitted from November 1, 2023 until December 31, 2023. For more information about how to apply, visit the City’s website or email [email protected].
